Dr. Andrea Pinto Lopez M.D.
Andrea is a General Practitioner from Venezuela. Dr. Pinto graduated from the Universidad de Carabobo, in her hometown of Valencia, in December 2016. She then completed her mandatory rural service in the Hospital Juan José Mora. Currently, Dr. Pinto is in the process of applying to different Master of Public Health Programs. She hopes to dedicate her career to public and global health, with a specific interest in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
As a medical professional, she firmly believes in making accurate and science-based medical information accessible for everyone. During medical school, she was the head of the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights including HIV and AIDS (SCORA) committee of her university’s Medical Students’ Association, which is part of The International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA). Throughout her medical education and career, Dr. Pinto has also volunteered with several NGOs devoted to improving healthcare and living conditions in Venezuela, such as Techo and Rescate Venezuela. She also works as a part-time content creator and writer.
